GE T&D India to sell global engineering biz to GEIIPL for Rs 140 crore

GE T&D India Ltd board has approved a proposal to sell its Global Engineering Operations Division (GEOD Business) to GE India Industrial Private Ltd (GEIIPL) via a slump sale for a cash consideration of Rs 140.6 crore. "The company has, in the meeting of its board of directors that was held on January 24, 2022, agreed to sell its Global Engineering Operations Division (India for Global) (GEOD Business) to GE India Industrial Private Ltd (GEIIPL) (a related party) together with the assets and manpower comprised therein along with its corresponding liabilities by way of a slump sale on an "as is where is" basis," a BSE filing said. The GEIIPL (the buyer) is a company incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956, and it is a part of the General Electric Group. As per the filing, the lump sum consideration for sale is Rs 140.6 crore and the Business Transfer Agreement is expected to be executed by January 31, 2022. Just Dial shares tumbles over 3% post Q3 earnings announcement

Shares of Just Dial on Wednesday dipped over 3 per cent after the company's consolidated net profit declined by 61.2 per cent for December 2021 quarter. The stock declined 5.78 per cent to Rs 791 during the day on the BSE. It settled at Rs 812.90, lower by 3.17 per cent. At the NSE, it closed at Rs 813, a decline of 3.16 per cent after tumbling 5.90 per cent during the session to Rs 790. Just Dial on Tuesday said its consolidated net profit declined by 61.2 per cent to Rs 19.4 crore for the quarter ended December 2021. The company's net profit stood at Rs 49.9 crore in the year-ago period. Its net revenue from operations dipped 6.2 per cent to Rs 158.89 crore in the October-December 2021 quarter from Rs 169.54 crore a year ago. The company said it has ramped up hiring across critical functions, such as technology, content, sales and marketing teams, which has resulted in higher employee expenses. Mcap of BSE-listed companies jumps to all-time high of over Rs 280 trn

Market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies jumped to an all-time high of over Rs 280 lakh crore on Monday as benchmark indices bounced back after taking a breather in the previous trade. The 30-share BSE benchmark gained 85.88 points or 0.14 per cent to settle at 61,308.91. During the day, it jumped 162.45 points to 61,385.48. The market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms reached a lifetime high of Rs 2,80,02,437.71 crore on Monday. Sensex and Nifty broke their five-day rising streak to close with slim losses on Friday. "Markets started the week on a flat note amid mixed global cues. As the day progressed, high volatility was witnessed but the benchmark traded in a positive range for most of the session," said Ajit Mishra, VP - Research, Religare Broking Ltd. Ultratech Cement was the biggest gainer among the Sensex shares, with a gain of 2.78 per cent, followed by Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, TCS, L&T and SBI.
