Moreover, this satellite-based network will enhance mobile backhaul capacity, further extending the reach and scale of Jio’s True5G network to even the remotest corners of the nation.
Crucial Partnership with SES
A key element in realizing this ambitious project is Jio’s partnership with SES, which provides access to cutting-edge medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite technology. SES offers a unique MEO constellation capable of delivering gigabit, fibre-like services from space.
Game-Changing Technology
By combining SES’s O3b and the new O3b mPOWER satellites, Jio has positioned itself as the exclusive provider of ground-breaking technology, ensuring scalable and affordable broadband access throughout India with unprecedented reliability and service flexibility.
Akash Ambani’s Enthusiasm
The Chairman, Akash Ambani, expressed his excitement about this pioneering initiative by stating, “Jio has enabled millions of homes and businesses in India to experience broadband internet for the first time. With JioSpaceFiber, we expand our reach to cover the millions yet to be connected.”
The Digital India Initiative
John-Paul Hemingway, Chief Strategy Officer at SES, emphasized the significance of this collaboration in supporting the Government of India’s Digital India initiative. He stated that this unique solution aims to deliver multiple gigabits per second of throughput to any location in India.
Connecting Remote Locations
