Indian automotive sector showed mixed performance in November 2024. Some companies reported robust growth because of high SUV demand and premium vehicle segments, while others faced moderate challenges in maintaining sales momentum post the festive season. The month reported developments in both domestic and export market sales. Consumer demand in SUV category and EV segment is clearly visible.

Tata Motors
Tata Motors Ltd. witnessed steady performance in November 2024, sustaining stable momentum in the auto sector with a slight upward in overall domestic sales. Tata Motors' commercial vehicle segment reported deliveries of 27,636 units, a 1% year-on-year decline from the previous year's 28,029 units. Whereas, the passenger vehicle division reported positive momentum, with sales of 47,117 units, a 2% growth compared to last year's 46,143 units. Combined shipments totalled 73,246 vehicles, reflecting a 1% overall growth.
Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. reported good performance in November 2024; SUV sales passed tractor sales, a strong consumer preference for larger vehicles. The SUV sales with the dealership dispatches 46,222 units, showcasing a 16% year-on-year growth from 39,981 units. Mahindra's KPI revealed that domestic passenger vehicle sales increased 16% YoY to 46,222 units, while commercial vehicle deliveries showed a slight 1% dip to 22,042 units. Tractor sales showed a 2% increase to 31,746 units, with a remarkable 53% surge in exports to 2,776 units. The company's combined dispatches for the month are at 79,083 vehicles.
Maruti Suzuki
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. showed stability in November auto sales, with a 10% growth in dealership dispatches. The company's overall sales volume reached 1,81,531 units, a 10.39% year-on-year increase from 1,64,439 units in November 2023. Maruti Suzuki's domestic car sales increased by 5.33% to 1,41,312 units, whereas export performance up by 24.77% to 28,633 units.
Hyundai
Hyundai Motor November auto sales performance shows interesting results, with total sales of a 6.9% year-on-year decline to 61,242 units from 65,801 units. Hyundai's domestic sales up by 2.4% to 48,246 units, while exports declined by 20.5% to 13,006 units. SUVs still dominates the company's portfolio, with 68.8% of total sales. Rural markets involved 22.1% of monthly volumes, while CNG vehicles maintained a 14.4% share of total sales.
Toyota
Toyota Kirloskar Motor India Pvt. Ltd. shows amazing growth in November auto sales, driven by strong demand for its premium vehicles. The manufacturer reported sales of 25,586 units, a 44% year-on-year increase from 17,818 units. Toyota's flagship models reached milestones, with both the Innova Hycross and Urban Cruiser Hyryder crossing the 100,000-unit sales mark.
