NSE to Introduce 4 New Indices For Trading with Effect from April 8

The Nifty MidSmall Healthcare Index will track the performance of midcap and small cap stocks within the healthcare sector.

NSE announced on wednesday, that the exchange will launch four new indices in the cash segment as well as in futures and options segment. These indices will come to effect from April 8, 2024. 

The National Stock Exchange of India, has proposed an online dissemination of four new indices. The indices are Nifty500 Multicap India Manufacturing 50:30:20, Nifty Tata Group 25% Cap, Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20 and Nifty MidSmall Healthcare.

NSE: Nifty Tata Group 25% Cap

Nifty Tata Group 25% Cap Index consists of 10 companies and it is based on the free float market capitalization method. 

The top 10 companies are TCS, Tata Motors, Titan, Tata Steel, Trent, Tata Consumer Products, Tata Power, Indian Hotels, Tata Motors Limited DVR, Tata Elxsi. 

NSE: Nifty500 Multicap India Manufacturing 50:30:20

The Nifty500 Multicap India Manufacturing 50:30:20 Index will track the performance of the selected largecap, midcap and smallcap index from the Nifty500. The index will focus on the manufacturing theme. 

Nifty500 Multicap India Manufacturing 50:30:20 Index will have 75 constituents and the weight of each stock will be free float market capitalization. The overall weight of large cap fixed at 50%, midcap at 30% and smallcap at 20%.

The Top 10 companies in the Nifty500 Multicap India Manufacturing 50:30:20 are Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, Tata Motors, Maruti Suzuki India, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tata Steel, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco Industries, JSW Steel and Cipla. 

NSE: Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20

The Nifty500 Multicap Infrastructure 50:30:20 index will track the performance of selected large, mid, and small caps representing an infrastructure theme. The ratio of large caps is also fixed at 50%, midcap 30%, and smallcap 20%.

The top 10 companies in the index are L&T, Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, NTPC, Max Healthcare, Power Grid Corporation, UltraTech Cement, Indian Hotels, ONGC, Adani Ports & SEZ. Here, in this index L&T has a height weight at 10.35%.

NSE: Nifty MidSmall Healthcare

The Nifty MidSmall Healthcare Index will track the performance of midcap and small cap stocks within the healthcare sector. This index includes upto 30 stocks selected from the Nifty Mid Small Cap 400 based on stocks six month free float market capitalization.
