After tepid listings for recent IPOs, Lemon Tree Hotels breaks trend, jumps on debut
Hospitality company Lemon Tree Hotels listed at a premium of 10% at Rs 61.6 per share on the National Stock Exchange, compared to its issue price of Rs 56. The stock rose as much as 16% to Rs 65 from its issue price thereafter. As of this writing it is trading slightly below Rs. 60. The IPO was subscribed 1.19 times on the final day of bidding on the final day. This is the first IPO in recent weeks to perform well - shares of Indian defence public sector unit Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) had fallen 10% on its debut. Missile maker Bharat Dynamics had performed poorly as well, listing at a 14% discount. ICICI Securities met a similar fate, with its IPO listing at an over 16% discount. Metals and alloys producer Mishra Dhatu Nigam, which had offered 34.1 million shares priced at the top end of its expected range of Rs 1,240, listed at a 3% discount.09-04-2018
