BSE launches Electronic Gold Receipts for efficient price discovery of gold
Leading stock exchange BSE has launched Electronic Gold Receipt (EGR) on its platform, a move that will help in efficient and transparent price discovery of the yellow metal. It introduced two new products of 995 and 999 purity during the Muhurat trading on Diwali and trading will be in multiples of 1 gram and deliveries in multiples of 10 gram and 100 gram, the exchange said in a statement. The announcement came after the exchange last month received final approval from the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) for introducing EGR on its platform. BSE in February received in-principle approval from Sebi after which the exchange conducted several mock trading in the test environment for its members to facilitate trading in EGRs. EGRs will cater to all market participants, which means that buyers and sellers on the exchange will include individual investors, as well as commercial participants along the value chain like importers, banks, refiners, bullion traders, jewellery

CG Power Q2 net profit falls 11% to Rs 179 cr; total income rises 16%
CG Power and Industrial Solutions on Wednesday reported 11 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 178.97 crore for September quarter 2022-23. The company logged a profit of Rs 201.78 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2021, a BSE filing stated. However, its total income rose to Rs 1,707 crore in the quarter from Rs 1,468.56 crore in the same period a year ago. The board in its meeting also approved a proposal to expand the manufacturing capacity of motors at its Ahmednagar and Goa plants with a capital outlay of Rs 230 crore. The proposed expansion would increase the capacity to 19.92 lakh low tension motors per annum, from the existing capacity of 9.93 lakh per annum. The current capacity utilisation is around 80 per cent. The expansion project will be implemented in 2 phases over a period of 4 years and will be funded through internal accruals.
