The National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE) recently released a couple of significant circulars that have a direct impact on traders and investors dealing with BANKNIFTY and MIDCPNIFTY. BANKNIFTY’s New Schedule

BANKNIFTY’s weekly index options expiry day is undergoing a shift from Thursday to Wednesday. The new schedule will kick off on September 04, 2023, with the first Wednesday expiry slated for September 06, 2023.

MIDCPNIFTY: Tweaking the Timeline

On the other hand, MIDCPNIFTY’s expiry cycle for both weekly and monthly futures and options contracts is also changing.

These changes mean that weekly contracts will now expire on Monday, excluding the expiry week of the monthly contract. As for monthly contracts will expire on the last Monday of the respective contract month, shifting from the last Wednesday of the expiry month. The new timeline starts from August 21, 2023.
