Ans. A pledge request is valid until it is manually unpledged by the customer.

2.How much margin can I get after pledging my holdings?

Ans. The margin amount depends on the type and value of the securities pledged. Exchange typically offers 50-90% of the stock’s market value.

3.Can I pledge all types of stocks?

4.Is there a charge for pledging?

Ans. Yes, 12+GST is a charge for pledging and unpledging.

5.How long does it take for the margin to be credited after pledging?

Ans. The margin is usually credited within 24 hours after the pledge request is successfully authorized.


6.Can I sell pledged shares?

Ans. Yes, pledged shares can be sold by the customer.


7.What happens if I don’t unpledge before selling?

Ans. Nothing, customers can easily sell off his holdings.


8.How do I unpledge my holdings?

Ans. Customers can unpledge the holdings through the same ‘Demat Holdings’ section by selecting the securities and requesting unpledge.


9.Is interest charged on the margin used from pledging?

Ans. Yes, 0.04% interest will be charged if you utilize the margin beyond the 50% cash collateral as per the SEBI guidance.


10.Can I pledge mutual funds and ETFs?

Ans. Yes, Bigul allows pledging of mutual funds and ETFs, but the margin percentage may vary.
