Established in 1970, Davangere Sugar Company Limited is a leading manufacturer and supplier of sugar in India and is headquartered in Bengaluru. The company began commercial production of sugar in 1974 with a capacity of 1,250 tonnes of cane crushed per day (TCD). The company was later expanded to a cane crushing capacity of 4,750 TCD. Davangere Sugar Company has been able to diversify its operations, and aims to be more sustainable through ethanol production (using molasses, sugar syrup (ETP)), and power co-generation.
