Union Budget 2025 Expectations by CII has been released, which proposes a 7-point agenda for employment. CII also suggests ways to Tax incentives, Incentivise rural employment, and empower women's workforce.

Union Budget 2025 date is scheduled on February 1, 2025. CII came forward to put some important recommendations to the Budget 2025-26 makers. The aim of these recommendations is to drive economic growth, enhance productivity and create job opportunities across sectors.

A recent report by Reuters mentioned that, In Budget 2025, FM may bring huge income tax relief for individuals. Government considering cutting Income tax for individuals earning up to 15 Lakh P.A

Union Budget 2025 Expectations: CII Suggestions

1. Boosting Employment Generation Sectors

Budget 2025: As per CII, to create large scale jobs, the government should support employment-intensive sectors. The sectors are construction, tourism, textiles, and low-skilled manufacturing.

These sectors could benefit from streamlined tariff structures, employment linked incentive schemes and better alignment of Free Trade Agreements.

2. Increasing Rural Employment

Budget 2025: CII suggests launching an internship program for the college educated to work in government offices. It will strengthen the manpower resources for the effective implementation of the rural programs.

3. Women Empowerment

CII suggests several initiatives like constructing dormitories for women workers using CSR funds. Establishing government supported creches in industrial clusters to support working mothers. 

4. Improving Social Security

CII suggests to give priority to roll out the labour codes while ensuring social security coverage for gig and platform workers.

5. Global Employment Opportunities

CII proposed the establishment of an international Mobility Authority under the Ministry of External Affairs. To facilitate G2G collaborations to create overseas job opportunities for Indian youth. Develop skill development programs to match the global demands in partnership with the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
