Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel released its fourth quarter earnings for FY24 on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. It reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2,072 crore, compared to Rs 3,006 crore in the same period a year ago. The net profit declined by 31% compared to Q4 of FY23.
Bharti Airtel reported consolidated revenue of Rs 37,599 crore, which increased by 4.4% compared to the previous year. The company's consolidated EBITDA reached Rs 19,590 crore compared to Rs 18,807 crore, an increase of 4% on a year-on-year basis. However, the EBITDA margin declined 10 basis points and settled at 52.1%.
Bharti Airtel ARPU Growth
Bharti Airtel's ARPU for the fourth quarter is Rs 209, marking an increase from Rs 193 ARPU recorded in the corresponding quarter of previous year.
This growth in ARPU shows a company's continued efforts in acquiring high valued customers and enhancing their products.
The company added 7.8 million smartphone customers and delivered an industry-leading Average revenue per unit of Rs 209. Airtel's focus on improving customer experience resulted in a 20% reduction in churn during the quarter.
Bharti Airtel's Dividend Update
In Financial year 2024, the company's board recommended a final dividend of Rs 8 fully paid up equity share of face value of Rs 5 each and Rs 2 per partly paid equity share FV of Rs 5 each.
Segment Wise Performance
The Homes business delivered a revenue growth of 20% on YoY basis, a result of the company's strategy to harness the growing demand of high speed broadband.
The Airtel business had revenue growth of Rs 14.1% on a year-on-year basis, leveraging Airtel's converged portfolio and harvesting the increasing demand for data and connectivity solutions.
Airtel Digital TV business continues to consolidate its strong market position with 16.1 million customer base at the end of the quarter.
