NEW DELHI: Paragon Partners, along with co-investors, has decided to invest Rs 111 crores (US $ 17 million) in Maini Precision Products Limited (MPPL) through a mix of primary and secondary transactions. MPPL is a Bengaluru-based manufacturer and supplier of high-precision engineering components and assemblies catering to the global automotive, industrial and aerospace sectors. Founded in 1973 by the Maini family, MPPL commenced operations as a supplier of auto parts to Bosch and since then has diversified to supply a number of other automotive OEMs and Tier I component suppliers such as Eaton, Magneti Marelli and Volvo. Paragon Partners is the maiden private equity venture of Siddharth Parekh and Sumeet Nindrajog. Paragon Partners has raised Rs 1,300 crore from a mix of domestic and overseas investors under its first fund in 2016. MPPL represents the second investment for the firm, the first being Rs 63 crore (US$10 million) investment in Mumbai-based EPC player Capacit'e Infraprojects Limited. "We have been closely following the manufacturing and industrials sector in India and are very excited about our partnership with Maini," Siddharth Parekh, Co-Founder & Senior Partner said in an announcement. "This deal is representative of Paragon's investment philosophy of partnering with high-quality entrepreneurs with differentiated business models and assisting them in scaling up operations through strategic and operational guidance," he added.
