Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd has announced the following Unaudited results for the quarter ended June 30, 2010:The Company has posted a net loss of Rs (4514.35) million for the quarter ended June 30, 2010 as compared to net loss of Rs (423.06) million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009. Total Income has decreased from Rs 11284.65 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2009 to Rs 10338.96 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2010.12-08-2010

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd has informed BSE that in the matter of deduction under section 80IA of the Income Tax Act, 1961, the Commissioner of Income Tax (Appeals) has allowed to MTNL a further proportionate relief for the Assessment year 2001-02. As a result of this order, MTNL would be entitled to an estimated amount of Rs. 385 crores which include an Interest amount of Rs. 145 crores approximately.20-05-2010
