IRCTC released third quarter earnings for financial year 2024, on Tuesday, February 14. It reported a net of Rs 299.99 crore as compared to Rs 255.52 crore in Q3 FY23. The profit jumped 17% compared to the same quarter in the previous year.
The Revenue from operations rose 21.81% to Rs 1,118.30 crore in Q3 FY24 as compared to Rs 918.06 crore in Q3 FY23.
The profit before exceptional items and tax stood at Rs 420.87 crore in Q3 FY24, showing a growth of 23.32%, compared with Rs 341.28 crore in the same quarter last year. The exceptional items reported in this Q3 was Rs 14.51 crore.
IRCTC Revenue Update on Segmental Basis
On a segmental basis, Revenue from the catering was Rs 507.76 crore up by 28.83% year on year. Revenue from Rail neer water bottle was at Rs 83.76 crore up by 6.05% YoY, internet ticketing revenue stands at Rs 335.31 crore up by 11.4% YoY.
Tourism was at Rs 167.50 crore up by 36.99% YoY and revenue from state teertha was Rs 27.96 crore up by 9.69% year on year.
IRCTC Shares Past Performance
IRCTC shares performed well in the last two months and rallied 48% approx. from December 2023. It hit an all time high on January 20, 2024 at 1049.00. Later, price faced rejection and witnessed minor correction.
On February 13, 2024, the share price of IRCTC showed a minor gain of 1.15% and closed the sessions at Rs 910.45 per share. Today, the IRCTC stock was trading flat at Rs 916.30 with a gain of 0.64%.
