It is to inform you that OMDC had received Demand Notices from Government of Odisha, in regard to the price thereof towards compensation under section 21(5) of MMDR Act, 1957, pursuant to the Hon'ble Supreme Court Judgement dt.2.8.2017 in the W.P.(C) No.114 of 2014. The management had proposed to make the payment of Rs. 400 Crores (Rupees Four Hundred Crores) as lump sum to be made to the Govt. of Odisha for penalty towards violation of Environmental Clearance (EC), Forest Clearance (FC), Mining Plan (MP) and Consent to Operate (CTO) of OMDC Mines of earlier years, which is approved by the Board. The company is in process of making the payment which will be completed within a day or two.
