IndiGo to start flights from Arunachal's first civil airport from Nov 28
IndiGo will commence commercial flights from the newly constructed Donyi Polo Airport, Arunachal Pradesh's first civil airport, from November 28, an official release said on Wednesday. Flights connecting Hollongi, which is around 15 km from Itanagar, with Mumbai and Kolkata will operate daily barring Wednesday. A weekly flight service connecting Hollongi with Kolkata on Wednesdays will begin on December 3. "We are pleased to announce Itanagar (Hollongi), as the 75th destination on the 6E network. This will be IndiGo's first destination in Arunachal Pradesh," Chief Strategy and Revenue Officer of IndiGo, Sanjay Kumar, said in a statement. This is in line with the carrier's vision to enhance connectivity in the Northeast, it said. These flights are designed to cater to business and leisure travellers who are constantly on the lookout for new and affordable flying options to access destinations that are known for their tourist attractions, Kumar said. InterGlobe Aviation announced Q2FY23 results: Q2FY23: Capacity increased by 75.0% Passenger numbers increased by 75.9% to 19.7 million Yield improved by 21.0% to Rs. 5.07 and load factor improved by 8 points to 79.2% Revenue from operations increased by 122.8% to Rs. 124,976 million Fuel prices increased by 86.7% leading to an increase in fuel CASK by 79.8% CASK ex-fuel decreased by 11.3% due to higher capacity deployment, partially offset by an increase in foreign exchange loss. EBITDAR of Rs. 2,292 million (1.8% EBITDAR margin), compared to EBITDAR of Rs. 3,408 million (6.1% EBITDAR margin) Loss excluding foreign exchange of Rs. 3,818 million compared to Rs. 14,699 million. Net loss of Rs. 15,833 million, compared to a net loss of Rs. 14,357 million.
