 Ministry of Coal vide its letter No. 21/11/2021-ESTABLISHMENT dated 02.05.2023 has communicated the entrustment of the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance), CIL to Shri Debasish Nanda, Director (Business Development), CIL for a period of six months w.e.f 02.05.2023 or till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earliest. Shri Debasish Nanda has assumed the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance), CIL w.e.f. 03.05.2023. This is for your information and records. This is as per Regulation 30 of SEBI LoDR, 2015.

India's coal production rises 22.6% in 5 years to 893.08 mn tonnes in FY23

 India's coal production has registered a growth of about 23 per cent in last five years to 893.08 million tonnes (MT) in FY23, an official statement said on Wednesday. "India's overall coal production has seen a quantum jump to 893.08 MT in FY 2022-23 as compared to 728.72 MT in FY 2018-2019 with a growth of about 22.6 per cent," the coal ministry said. In the last five years, the production of Coal India Limited (CIL) has increased to 703.21 MT from 606.89 MT in FY19, registering a growth of 15.9 per cent. While Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has registered a growth of 4.3 per cent at 67.14 MT in FY23 compared to 64.40 MT in FY19. Contribution from captive and other mines to the total coal output also increased to 122.72 MT in FY23, up 113.7 per cent from 57.43 MT in FY19.

Trials for Coal India's in-house e-auction platform to begin in May

 Trials for Coal India's in-house e-auction platform will begin in May, a senior official said on Thursday. At present, the e-auctions are conducted through external agencies such as MSTC Ltd and mjunction Ltd. Within the next three-four months, all e-auctions of the state-owned Coal India will move to the in-house platform, which has been developed by the National Informatics Centre (NIC) with the assistance of Central Mine Planning & Design Institute, the official said. "We expect to begin trials of the in-house platform in the first or second week of May with the e-auction of coal from Central Coalfields Ltd. The next one will be Bharat Coking Coal Ltd (BCCL) in the second phase of the trials," a senior Coal India official said. The total coal sold via e-auction per year is around 100 million tonne or about 15 per cent of the production, while the rest is sold through linkages. Coal India fetches a significantly higher price on the coal sold through e-auction, he said. In...
