IHH Healthcare re-brands Global Hospitals under the brand Gleneagles

IHH Healthcare Berhad, a healthcare group in which Malaysia government's sovereign wealth fund Khazanah Nasional holds majority stake, is consolidating its India platform by rebranding Global Hospitals, in which it holds a majority stake, under the brand Gleneagles. The company has sold more than half of its stake in Apollo Hospitals, which analysts expects is an action towards strengthening its presence in India."We are further consolidating our India platform by re-branding our Global Hospitals facilities under the IHH 'Gleneagles' brand. This will drive greater brand equity," said IHH Healthcare in response to specific queries on their India plan. Apollo Hospitals shares declined by 5% after IHH sells 6% stake

Share price of Apollo Hospitals declined by over 5 per cent on Friday after a report said that Malaysia-based sovereign fund Khazanah's arm Integrated Healthcare Holdings (Mauritius) (IHH) sold six per cent stake in the company. IHH already have invested into hospital sector in India other than the stake in Apollo Hospitals.The stock price has come down almost 5.31 per cent to Rs 1246 on Friday till 4 pm, as the news about a block deal to sell 6 per cent of its shareholding in Apollo Hospitals for $160 million.IHH held around 10.85 per cent equity share in Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd (AHEL), till the end of December 2016. A potential exit from AHEL may help IHH to infuse more money into its own hospital business in India. It has acquired around 73.4 per cent stake in Global Hospitals in August 2015, for $195 million.
