Cash funnel allegations against Indiabulls Housing founder, DLF and Anil Ambani

Anil Ambani is in the news, again for the wrong reasons. The Delhi high court Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed against Indiabulls Housing, names him along with the founder of Indiabulls Housing Finance and DLF as conspiring to funnel large amounts of loans from public sector undertakings. The PIL states that the flagship company of the Indiabulls group conspired with the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group and the DLF Group to move over nine thousand crore rupees of public money through shell companies. How did they do it? The PIL states that IBHFL borrowed large sums from various private and public banks, and then used shell companies to extend loans amounting to thousands of crores to firms owned by these large business groups. The petition states that these companies then invested money in businesses owned by the promoters of Indiabulls, including its founder and chairman, Sameer Gehlaut. “The intent of all these methods is to create private wealth out of public money,” the PIL said. The companies named in the PIL include Anil Ambani’s Reliance ADAG; the DLF Group, promoted by Kushalpal Singh; the Americorp Group, promoted by Harish Fabiani, a Spain-based non-resident Indian; the Vatika Group and the Chordia Group, both real-estate companies. According to the petition, IBHFL loaned close to Rs 9,248 crore to these five companies. It stated that Reliance ADAG received Rs 1,580 crore in loans and invested Rs 570 crore back in Indiabulls, while DLF received Rs 1,705.54 crore as loans and invested at least Rs 66 crore in a company owned by Gehlaut. IBHFL lent a whopping Rs 4,601.01 crore to 51 companies of the Vatika Group, owned by Gautam Bhalla, the petition said.

Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd - 535789 - Media Reports Regarding A PIL Against The Company And Its Promoter

1. It has come to our notice through media that a PIL has been filed against the Company (IBH) & Promoters in Delhi High Court. The petition hasn't yet been filed in High Court as per its website, but leaked in social media with malicious intent to create turbulence in IBH stock price. 2. The purported PIL admits that allegations are same as in earlier petition of Abhay Yadav which was subsequently withdrawn. Abhay in his statement admitted that allegations against IBH were based on incorrect & twisted data & he had filed it at behest of the mastermind of blackmailing racket who was then arrested & is in jail. 3. Instead of going to regulatory agencies & making complaint, the petitioners chosen route of PIL to attract attention & play into hands of blackmailers & corporate rivals at a sensitive time of merger process of IBH & Laxmi Vilas Bank. For past 3 months, IBH is undergoing inspections of regulators as part of merger process. IBH is determined to fight out petitioners in court.
