SJVN inks pact with Tata Power Solar Systems for 1,000 MW solar project

 State-owned SJVN Ltd on Thursday inked a pact with Tata Power Solar Systems to build a 1,000 MW solar project worth Rs 5,500 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. "SJVN today entered into an EPC agreement for 1,000 MW solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan with M/s Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd," a company statement said. The contract agreement was signed in the presence of Nand Lal Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of SJVN by Chief General Manager (ECD), SJVN S K Sood, and Vepul Jain, Chief - Business Development, Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. Sharma said this Rs 5,500 crore-EPC contract is the country's biggest solar contract awarded till date. The contract includes end-to-end delivery of commissioned solar plant to SJVN including arrangement of land on outright purchase basis, power evacuation system up to the ISTS (inter-state transmission system) sub station, and operation and maintenance of the solar PV plant for three years. SJVN to set up hydel 490 MW Arun-4 power project worth Rs 4,900 cr in Nepal

 State-owned SJVN Ltd will develop another hydro power project Arun-4 worth Rs 4,900 crore in Nepal. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of the 490 MW Arun-4 hydro electric project in Nepal has been signed in Lumbini, Nepal in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister of Nepal Sher Bahadur Deuba, the company said in a statement on Monday. SJVN Chairman and Managing Director Nand Lal Sharma said it will be the third mega project to be constructed by the company in Nepal. The construction of 900 MW Arun-3 project is in progress and the 669 MW Lower Arun project is at the survey and investigation stage. With the MoU, signed by Sharma and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) Managing Director Kulman Ghising, SJVN has three projects with a total capacity of 2,059 MW in Nepal.  In compliance with regulation 30 of Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, this is to inform you that a MoU for development of 490 MW Arun-4 project in Nepal has been signed in Lumbini, Nepal today in the august presence of the Honourable Pime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi and Honourable Prime Minister of Nepal Shri Sher Bahadur Deuba. The Project will be developed in JV mode by the Company and Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) with the company having majority share and is expected to generate around 2100 Million Units of energy per annum.This is the 3rd project of the Company on Arun River basin. Two other projects, i.e., 900 MW Arun-3 and 669 MW Lower Arun are already being developed by the Company. With signing of this MoU, the Company will have portfolio of three projects in Nepal having total capacity of 2059 MW.
