Equity Cult: Number of demat accounts tops 10 crore
Investor accounts at Central Depository Services (CDSL), India's largest depository, crossed seven crore as on August 31, pushing the tally beyond the milestone. As on March 31, 2020, the total number of investor accounts with CDSL and National Securities Depositories were at 4.09 crore.

A technical glitch at India's largest securities depository firm Central Depository Services Ltd (CDSL) disrupted trading on the bourses on Monday. Several investors, who trade online, were unable to sell their stocks in the first half of Monday's trading session as CDSL's servers failed to authorise the debit of securities from their demat accounts.
