Dear Sir/Ma'am, New Delhi Television Limited (Company) has received a Notice dated 1st May, 2020 (Notice), under Section 148 of the Income Tax Act, 1961 (Act), whereby, it has been informed that the Income Tax Department (Department) have reasons to believe that the income of the Company chargeable to tax for the Assessment Year 2008-09 has escaped Assessment within the meaning of section 147 of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Accordingly, the Department has proposed to assess/ re-assess the income/ loss for the said Assessment Year and the Company has been asked to deliver within 30 days, a return in the prescribed form for the said Assessment Year. Presently, there is no financial implication on the Company pursuant to the Notice as the Department has proposed to undertake reassessment proceedings for AY 2008-09. The Company is seeking legal advice in the matter and will take necessary action(s) accordingly.
