 On 03 August, 2022, an unfortunate gas leakage from a pipeline took place in the Khardah plant, West Bengal, of the Company due to which a Supervisor and a worker passed away and another worker was hospitalised. Electrosteel Castings Limited has always adhered to the highest safety standards and remain committed to do so. It is an unfortunate incident that has taken place and the Company is probing the cause of it. The Company expresses heartfelt condolences to the families of the bereaved and is in constant touch with them. The Company's primary focus is on the well being of the workman who is admitted in the hospital and is out of danger.

 On 15th June 2021, Company intimated to the Stock Exchange that UV Asset Reconstruction Co. Ltd ('UVARCL') filed application at NCLT, Cuttack for initiation of CIRP against the company. On 24th June 2022, Company intimated that NCLT, Cuttack pronounced the order in favour of the Company by dismissing, application of UVARCL. On 22nd July 2022, advocate of UVARCL serviced the copy of appeal filed at NCLAT, New Delhi against NCLT Cuttack Order dated: 24th June 2022. It is reiterated that the Company had mortgaged its Elavur land in favour of one of the lenders of Electrosteel Steels Limited ('ESL'). Despite the discharge of the entire financial debt of ESL, as per approved Resolution Plan in the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process ('CIRP') of ESL through a combination of cash and allotment of equity shares, the lender in whose favour the Elavur land was mortgaged sought to assign its alleged loan account in favour of UV Asset Reconstruction Co. Ltd ('UVARCL').
